Surviving Supercritical Steam: High-Temperature Valve Design
Steam system valves operate under some of the most demanding conditions in power generation – high pressures, elevated temperatures that can exceed 600°C in supercritical steam plants, and the thermal shock of startup and shutdown cycling. Our pressure seal gate valves and globe valves in alloy steel grades including P91, P22, and F91 are engineered for high-temperature steam service in Classes 900 through 2500. Pressure seal bonnet design provides improved sealing performance under high-temperature conditions where bolted bonnets are prone to relaxation and leakage over time, reducing maintenance burden across the plant lifecycle.

Turbine bypass systems require control valves capable of handling large pressure differentials, high-velocity steam, and the risk of cavitation and erosion on valve trim. Our multi-stage pressure reduction globe control valves with hardened trim materials manage steam bypass duties without the seat erosion that destroys standard single-stage control valves. For gas turbine fuel supply lines, our tight-shutoff ball valves and safety shutoff valves provide the fast-acting isolation required by turbine management systems to meet unit startup and emergency trip requirements reliably every time.
